NEMANJA CVIJANOVIĆ

Nemanja Cvijanović was born in 1972 in Rijeka, Croatia (then SFR Yugoslavia). He graduated painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 1998 and completed Master’s degree in visual arts projects and production from the Faculty of Art and Design of the IUAV University of Architecture in Venice. He is a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. He is one of the founders and was the programme manager and curator of the art collective and progressive gallery SIZ (Self-Governed Interest Association) in Rijeka, from 2008 to 2020. Since 1995, Cvijanović has exhibited his works in more than 300 international group exhibitions, while he has also had a number of solo exhibitions in European, Asian and American institutions and galleries. He exhibited at: Manifesta 9, Bruges City Festival, 14th International Sculpture Biennale in Carrara, and 7th Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture UABB in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. He received a number of national and international awards, including the THT-Award of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb and MACRO Amici Award of the MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome.
